This is the first of a series of short stories (Girl Shorts) that I am writing to encourage anyone who sees someone (boy or girl) who catches your interest, and find a way to approach them- because you just never know. Remember be creative!
This one is called “The Bet”
Girls, girls, girls…they can sure scramble ones’ libido. Women can be sexy, seductive, captivating, inspiring and it doesn’t matter if they are tall, short, thin, rubenesque, if you find one who catches your eye just right. If you don’t take a shot at a girl who scrambles your libido, you’re an idiot. You’ve got nothing to lose but the loss of not taking the shot. The key, be creative and get her attention.

During my marriage I’ve had two black ‘n blue eyes—one of them is just now fading, neither from Dale’s fist (violence isn’t in his nature even when he’s to-the-max irritated with me) and each a reminder of how moments of intimate togetherness pop up in surprising ways. Here’s how I got this one . . .
As a reminder to our reader’s. somewhere in my past I once performed as a drag king. Helped along by a friend’s training in theatrical make-up, sporting a full beard, mustache, cowboy hat, I performed as Midnight Cowboy for a period of 3-5 yrs. I had the privilege of performing with some of the best female impersonator’s, culminating with my performance at Atlanta’s Premier Cabaret club, Illusions in the mid 80’s.
One of the coolest things about being in a committed relationship is having someone to grow old with, someone with whom you share so many memories that sitting in the rockers on the porch won’t be boring at all because you’ll have so much to talk about. Equally as cool is how, if you open your mind and heart, your sweetheart can teach you things you might not otherwise ever learn, and can even help you be a better person.
Old flames never die they just fade away… Volumes are spoken in those few words; the anatomy of an unfulfilled love with the unanswered questions of what could have been, haunting you somewhere in the back of your mind. It seems like certain people have a destiny to come in and out of our lives, an old flame always leaving the biggest impression.
