Everyone wants to love and be loved.  Just because you have suffered through the painful experience of divorce, does not mean your heart does not want to find love again.  It is not unusual to desire a relationship where you can have an emotional connection with another person.  Though this is natural and is to be expected, there are some things that must happen to make sure that finding love after your divorce is fulfilling and right for you.

So you finally do it. You commit to one person. Congratulations. Let the honeymoon begin!! When I say commitment, it can be anything from marriage, to exclusive, to moving in, etc.; it’s whatever you and your partner decides is a “commitment” and how you define it. Regardless of how you define your commitment, it still affects you in a way that would not have, had you not committed. It requires so much more than the non-committed. Do not kid yourself nor become overly full of dreamy thoughts like the relationships depicted on the big screen. You may experience a bit of that during the “honeymoon” stage, but other than that, it requires attention and care that you would give any other aspect of your life. If you want to be a great mechanic or a great doctor, it takes time, attention, practice, and skill. So does being a good boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife or partner.

Do you know the difference?

Making love is the act of having sex that involves a certain level of intimacy and emotion. Raw sex is the act of having wild, passionate, uninhibited, animalistic sex, while not introducing a lot of “heart” emotion or emotions triggered by thought. Raw sex can be really hot. Although once the act of raw sex is over, emotions may sweep in and take you over. If you are in a committed relationship or exclusively dating, having both at different times is a great way to keep your sex life interesting.
