This year dear readers is my 3 year anniversary with Gir(L) magazine and what an “Awesome” experience it has been! I want to give a special thanks to Shelly and Jackie, who continue to make this great magazine possible! In March, I had celebrated another birthday, really amazing when I think of how my life has developed over the years. The past year had its challenges and detours in the road, but we all do our best to handle life’s little surprises. Whether they are problems with girlfriends, family, friends, finances, love, over indulgence, etc…I truly believe that in facing those issues, we can become stronger! It’s not a question of whether or not you have baggage; it’s how you handle it. That really defines who you are…

Today I find myself on a better path with new doors opening everyday, things that I have never envisioned before have become a new and interesting path on this road called life. In honoring past loves and special memories with my articles, it has proven to be such a cathartic experience, that I am issuing a “call to action” to you our readers, I want to hear your thoughts, your questions, your challenges, etc…It would be a natural extension of my stories to branch out into an advice/story column giving you an unbiased point of view as you go along your life’s journey. In offering my take on various issues that effect all of us, whether it’s heartbreak, or you are newly out, happily married, single, straight, confused, etc…I hope to put not only myself but others on the road to “New Beginnings”, sometimes all we really need is someone to listen.

Along with these new milestones, I go into the future with a more positive understanding of what is possible and with a greater clarity…I wanted to share a special mantra of sorts that helps me, when life seems overwhelming… “While resting on the side of a great lake, a “Gentle Lamb” sees his reflection in the water and envisions a “Powerful Majestic Lion”, the truth to the vision is “Strength comes from where you least expect it! When all else fails you; have the heart of a Lion! Find the strength in knowing that you are in control of your own fate and destiny, while empowering yourself to look into the past with the realization that all life has meaning as well as opportunities available, if you would just open yourself to them.”

Why would you call yourself “Ms. Heartbreak” signaling and identifying a shattered past
or present state when your words reflect a place of healing and discovery? This confused
me so I tried to find the spin on the title to see how it could fit. I could not. I wish to
understand the self assigned title so if you are willing to share, I would love to hear why you chose this symbol (word) to identify you.

Hello Joe:

The reason I end my stories with…” Hello Ms. Heartbreak, I’ve been expecting you” is not necessarily to denote how I identify myself. But as an honor, I bestow to life experiences and special individuals who have had an effect on my life, whether it is heartbreak, love, positive or negative experiences that we all can relate to, when in search of love.

It takes a long time before an individual can look back on their past and heal enough to share those experiences to the masses. I think it is important that we take a moment to remember our past and find the healing as well as the reasons that life takes us upon certain roads.

In closing dear readers, there are endless paths on this road called life, find the courage to explore the road less traveled for it is then that life will give you the most interesting adventures. If you are with your dream girl? Remember that living a life with your partner will have its ups and downs, it takes great courage and conviction to make it work. It’s a blessing when love, family and dreams come together to become a positive journey! If you are single, then know that one day, fate will bring you the lady of your dreams, if you remain open to the possibilities for love? Take chances and don’t be afraid of approaching a lady who catches your eye, above all else…“Love Fearlessly!”
