Sammy Asked Relationship Experts:
“I have been married for 5 years and with my husband for a total of 6 years. Before marriage he was incredibly attentive and very romantic. Thats basically why I fell in love with him. From the start of the marriage there were problems, he has a bad temper and our rows were pretty bad but very passionate, and we would soon make up. For the past 2 years things have gradually gotten worse. My husband up until a year ago, used to spend most of his free time with me. Nowadays, he wants to be alone often, is uninterested in me. Takes mini guy trips and basically doesnt notice me or seem to care. I havent heard him tell me he loves me in a long time. He actually is always putting me down. 2 weeks ago I asked for a divorce and living in Cairo, Egypt, families got involved and diffused the situation. He promised to try, but hasnt really made any effort. We have a 3 year old daughter and for her sake id like for things to work out. I no longer have strong feelings towards my husband, but am sure that they could come back. I am 3 years older than my husband, but i look young for my age, so there is definitely no obvious difference. I am what most people consider very attractive and i havent gained any weight since I met him, I take good care of my appearance But my husband mocks me and says im aging, and hes younger than me etc etc. He isnt the most attractive man, and he struggles a little at maintaining his weight I never put him down. I fell in love with the person, but my feelings are fast disappearing, He loves to put me down and my confidence is slipping. He doesnt wanna try, but doesnt want a divorce either. He says I caused for our marriage to be like this, by my nagging all the time. The thing is I really dont feel as though i’m a nag. Friends and family dont think I am either. He says im no fun, but that definitely isn’t true. He just doesn’t give me the chance. He has also tried to make me jealous on a number of occasions but I know he isn’t cheating, or at least im pretty sure he isn’t. I would really like to know what and how I can make things better between us.
Thanks so much for your time, help would very much be appreciated.”
