Los Angeles, CA—November 16, 2011 – With a new Share The Love campaign to headlineits holiday marketing endeavors, Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store gives couples a chance to publically express their love for each other on a 14’ x 48’ digital billboard that can be shared on social networks with family and friends. Anyone can create a personalized message for their significant other by accessing the company’s newly designed Share The Love Facebook application and submitting a romantic, silly, fun, serious, unique or even abstract message up to 75 characters.

Once the love message has been submitted, a virtual billboard will appear on the author’s screen immediately, and within 24 to 48 hours the message will appear on the digital billboard for a total of 8 seconds. A photo will be instantly taken with the camera attached to the billboard and emailed to the author, who can then share it with loved ones on Facebook, other social networks or by email.
Robbins Brothers conducted a soft launch for the campaign a few days ago and has already received nearly 100 submissions. Some of the recent ones include: “Congratulations to Brian & Crystal! Happily married 11-11-11” by Reverend G, “Jes I love you with all my heart! Can’t wait for you to come home” by Brenda S., and “I love YOU PETER CHOI!! To Neptune and back, forever and a day” by Laurah E. The billboard is visible to 180,000 freeway commuters in the westbound lanes on Highway 91. As inland residents travel to and from work in Orange County and Los Angeles, they will enjoy sweet expressions of love submitted by romantics across the world.

The digital billboard love note concept was developed by Robbins Brothers’ creative agency G&M Plumbing who felt the campaign would resonate with those at every stage in a relationship. “Whether the couple just started dating a few weeks ago or has been married forover 10 years, this is a perfect way to let your loved one know how special they are to you,” said Glenn Miller, partner/co-creative director. “It literally takes just a few moments to create and it’sa really fun and unique experience to share with friends.”

At Rock & Roll Engagement Party

On October 28, Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store hosted a cocktail party for recently engaged couples in the heart of Tinsletown at the new W Hollywood hotel. The evening was complete with champagne, appetizers, a Robbins Brothers Diamond Spa to clean guests’ engagement rings and showcase the latest bridal and fashion jewelry, and a special performance by pro surfer and “Lovely Day” musician Donavon Frankenreiter.

The highlight of the night was when Kyle White 26, an events production manager from Chatsworth, CA, surprised his girlfriend of three years Juliet Arpaia 21, with a marriage proposal onstage just before Donavon’s performance. Kyle told Juliet they won free VIP tickets to the concert. Donavon pretended that Kyle won a free surf lesson and asked him to come on stage with his guest to accept the prize. That’s when Kyle dropped to bended knee to ask Juliet to spend forever with him. She said ‘yes’ and the audience applauded with great enthusiasm while and joyful tears.

Another touching layer to this love story is the heartfelt relationship between Kyle and his mother, Valerie Kane, who has struggled with stage 3 breast cancer for the past year. After receiving a letter from Valerie asking for their support, Robbins Brothers graciously donated an engagement ring to the young couple. Both Valerie and Juliet’s mom, Angelica, knew about the surprise and were in attendance to celebrate with their newly-engaged offspring.

“Robbins Brothers exceeded my expectations and I’ll forever be grateful,” said Valerie. “At the least I was hoping to get a discount on a ring since Kyle & Juliet have been taking care of me over the past year and needed some financial help.”

“The whole night was magical and I’m still in shock,” said Kyle. “I’ve always known that I wanted my proposal to be special but never dreamed of anything like this. Everyone was so helpful and made me feel comfortable and heroic. Special thanks to Donavon and Robbins Brothers for everything! Juliet and I can’t stop smiling about it.”

Author and relationship expert, Maryanne Comaroto from Marin County, who founded the National Action Organization – a non-profit with the purpose of changing the way our culture values women. So excited to see Tim out there! I just received his book in the mail…this book is excellent! I’ll throw a question out there to Tim. Tim, your book is about understanding your mate in order to improve the relationship. What if it’s impossible? What if you are with someone for 13 years and he just gets on your everlasting nerve? What if your daughter (not his) hates him and you side with your daughter? Is this a doomed relationship?

You bring up an excellent question, and one that shows how difficult marriages get with divorce, the notion of a child from a previous marriage.

I do want to address the question first of him getting on your nerves. Because we are so much more educated now than ever before many more of us are cognizant about what we can find wrong with our spouse. The quote I use in the book to demonstrate this point is:

“Our present condition is, Legislation without law; wisdom without a plan; constitution without a name; and what is strangely astonishing, perfect Independence contending for dependence…The mind of the multitude is left at random, and seeing no fixed object before them, they pursue such as fancy or opinion starts. Nothing is criminal; there is no such thing as treason; wherefore every one thinks himself at liberty to act as he pleases.”

What this in essence is saying is that you can argue over anything. Unfortunately the notion that you can find fault over anything leads to your relationship developing into a regressive state. And the reason for this is the perspective of the person being critical, which is backwards because of the fear that a subjective behavior which is not thought of ahead of time by the one behaving badly, could result in problems. The reality is there are 3 types of behavior, 2 which should result in anger, and the third which unfortunately cannot be resolved. If your husband is behaving illegally or immorally then you have every right to get angry with him, but if you are getting angry at him because of subjective behavior that you fear might lead to problems then you might be looking in the wrong direction.

And as far as your daughter goes, the only thought I have is the need to work together with your husband to handle the issue with your daughter. After all she is the youngest. Unfortunately I do not know the issues between the 3 of you, but in divorce you have to also deal with her other family, something I suspect may be a source of the conflict. Again, the goal is for the parents to work together raising the children, not the children and one parent battling the other parent.
