“I met a girl who moved from upstate Michigan and we have been dating for 5 months now but she always is texting her guy friends from upnorth, from her old town. Well she seems to be enjoying herself better when she texts her old friends who happen to be guys then when she texts me. She goes up north once in a while to see old family and friends and she hangs out with her guy friends. Well i dont know these guys and they all have said she is attractive in some way. Well she says there only friends but she has more fun with them then with me. What should I do?”

“I have found myself unable to stop making abusive comments to my girlfriend, I used to think that she was being over sensitive and it was only my way of being playful. “So i met this girl. I saw her in passing a few times but I never had a real conversation just a few hi and passing. One day she asks for my number and from there we were off. She let me know she was unhappily married and had some other things going on and didnt want to involve anyone else in her problems. however we talked constantly, always flirting, she tells me I’m the first thing she thinks about and how she thinks im cute. Well we were suppose to go out for drinks on her day off and she waits until the last minute to tell me that she’s not putting drinking and spending time with me over skyoing her husband. Ok fine so I told her she should have let me know that earlier. So I stop by her room at like 1 in the morning just to make sure we were ok. She told me we was and then the next day messages me and tells me dont show up at her door anymore and basically to stop talking to her. What happened and what should I do from here?”

“Im engaged to the love of my life. but she is attached to the hip to her mother and family.
She has always put her family before me, and until now im beggining to get tired of it.  She sometimes brings her cousins and mom to visit, and expects me to always pay, and the like to eat expensive.  I’ve brought it to her attention but says i make 4x as much as they do.  She comes from a family who was well off but now due to the reccession her mom lost her business.  I feel she expects me to provide her and her mother and 8 year boy with the lifestyle they once knew, but honestly i just cant, i have expenses and pay child support so i refuse to do it, and now she is contemplating ending our relationship.

“ok, so my slightly older sister has a friend thats at my house a lot, she took my breath away the first time i saw her. but i didnt do anything because she was just “my sisters friend” but then the other day they invited me to go bowling with them, so i did. Now that night at bowling my sisters friend was talking and joking with me, giving each other “crap”, she seemed to pay more attention to me then my sister (her bestfriend) she kept jokingly hitting me and really seemed interested. we talked about a lot of serious things that have happened in our lives and told each other a lot, it seemed like it was love at first sight… so i got her number, and that night right after i dropped her off she called me and talked for an hour.. then the night was over, and the last few days ive been trying to figure this out… she wont text me first, but yet she does reply when i text her. but it seems like its just friendly talk…when she comes over, she doesnt really say anything to me unless i say something to her. i dont know what to do now! should i wait and see or should i talk to her and see how it goes, i dont wanna annoy her because i dont wanna mess anything up. ive never felt this way for a girl..”

“I’ve been living with two girls in a shared house for about 4 months now. I became very close with one of the girls and we eventually started holding hands and ended up sleeping together several times. She has told me she doesn’t want a major relationship and although I feel the same to some extent I am a bit confused as to where I stand. We still hold hands and cuddle up and make out most days but it seems like its always me putting in the first move. She never pushes me away though or says she doesn’t want it which is confusing for me. She works full time and when she gets home she does her own things so I only really get to see her briefly before she gets to sleep. “I’m a 21 year old college student and I still live with my parents. Two years ago, I was introduced to an older girl (mid twenties). She was immediately very enthusiastic about developing a friendship, and would frequently invite me over to her apartment or offer to go on outings together. When we would talk about relationships in the abstract, she would often tell me she “wasn’t interested in dating” as a result of a previous relationship that ended very badly. She would occasionally get her needs met through hooking up anonymously at nightclubs, but would never date anyone.

About a year after we met, her behavior changed and she began trying to build connections with some of her one night stands. Soon after I saw that, I introduced the idea of a romantic relationship between the two of us. She rejected the idea of us being a couple, saying that she cares a lot about me, but is attracted to guy who are independent and have already made their own way in the world.

Fast forward a year to a few weeks ago. We’ve continued spending time together and even met each others’ families, all “as friends”. My feelings for her had only grown over that entire time. One night, she asked me if I was still attracted to her. I replied that I was, to which she answered that we weren’t going to be dating while I still lived with my parents. I have plans to move out into an apartment of my own in about 9 months, which she knows. I took all of this as a sign that there’s potential for something between us. I thought that between me growing up and her getting over trauma in her life, there is hope she’d see me in a different light.

I really don’t know where to go from here. Can I expect that she and I will start dating when I’m out of my parents’ house, or is she just using that issue as an excuse? Is there anything I can do to try to win her over before then? I’m kind of intimidated by the whole situation, since she’s a lot more experienced than I am and goes after very attractive guys, but I know that I would be very happy with a relationship with her. Please advise on what I should do! Thanks!”
