“My boyfriend and I have been dating for 1 year and 6 months.
We are flying to America for college in about 1 month. My boyfriend = California and Me = Nebraska.
The problem is, I am willing to go out on a long-distance relationship with him and work it out. My boyfriend, on the other hand, does not believe it will work out. He has a very negative thought about it. He says “We can’t constantly keep in touch” or “You never know if one of us will lose our feelings”. This is not only once. I have tried NUMEROUS times to convince him!
Though, I am not giving up without trying!
How should I motivate him? And if he finally agrees on going out on a long-distance relationship, how should I make it work?”

Just out of curiosity, why aren’t you two attending the SAME college? Or at LEAST living in the same STATE? You can’t tell me Nebraska has things things that California doesn’t offer, so why not find a school in Cali that offers the major you’re looking at, IF, being close to your boyfriend is such an issue? If it’s that important to you, make it happen.
Or better yet, SUGGEST it. Say “Hey, what if I go to college in California too?”
If he WANTS it to work, he’ll be happy about the idea. If he tries to DISCOURAGE you, that’s a sign that he’s ready to move on. And if that’s the case, it means you should too.
